Welcome
To all our new members of the team welcome to the Evelina NICU induction pages. Here you will find useful information while working here.
Neonatology can be a daunting place for both junior and senior members alike. We hope this guide helps you during your time here on the unit!
Hand hygiene policy: Back to top
Wash your hands in the filter areas when coming to the unit and when leaving. Note – gel in and out of every room even if no patient contact. Bare below elbow; no long nails/nail polish/ring stones.
Audited weekly! 5 moments of hand hygiene – before and after patient contact.
Dress Code: Back to top
You will be provided with scrubs to be worn during your clinical shift. Changing facilities and lockers provided. Please bring a lock pad.
Relax & Wellbeing: Back to top
We have a huge staff room with the best view in town. Please feel free to use this area during your breaks. You can leave lunch boxes in the fridge provided: please label your box as the fridges may get crowded! Close to the Seminar Room we have a Wellbeing room (called Green Room) that is available every afternoon for staff to take a break and relax. A nice fragrance, relaxing musing, comfy chairs…..It’s a new initiative, let us know how it works!
